The Villa Anandita - “Happiness” in Sanskrit - on the beautiful island of Lombok, is a new exclusive hideaway villa, just a short flight away from Bali. Set under an array of coconut trees on a natural and pristine beach at the tip of the Tandjung peninsula, across the famous Gili islands, romantic and endlessly peaceful, it offers the perfect tropical retreat for families, friends and couples.

The Villa Anandita sits on a 1.5 hectares lush grass garden of tropical trees and plants with spectacular colors specially designed with the island’s frangipanis, bougainvilleas, lotus, water lilies and many other flamboyant species.

Location
The Villa ANANDITA is only 40 minutes away by car from Mataram airport through the Monkey forest pass, 30 minutes away from the tourist resort town of Sengigi, 15 minutes away from Tandjung and 5 minutes away from the famous five star Oberoi hotel.

The area is well covered by 2 GSM/GPRS mobile networks which usually allow smooth mobile phone communications and blackberry email and messaging.

At the entrance, a car park can accommodate up to six cars.

The main buildings
The villa consists of a central pavilion with a living room, another open-air building with dining room and a kitchen, surrounded by 4 separate private pavilions all built to blend in with the local environment. Designed by the renowned Australian architect, John Lincoln, the Villa Anandita is both minimalist and made with local materials such as wooden roofs, Palimanan stones. It is decorated with the finest modern furniture, Indonesian statues and carvings preserving harmony and tranquility.

The living room has a warm living space with sofas, TV, DVD player, Hi-Fi, computer with internet access and a snooker table and is decorated by a large free standing stone carving fresco.  

A wide terrace overlooking the pool provides an excellent spot for sun bathing, afternoon tea or evening dancing. Through a corridor of lotus filled ponds, it is connected to a large open dining room, with a long and massive teak table for up to 12 guests. A modern and fully equipped kitchen is only a few steps away, consisting of 2 separate cooking areas, one for the guests who enjoy cooking and the back area for the chef.  A long bar table with high chairs which are ideal for morning breakfast or evening aperitif provide an informal and relaxing gathering space that can bring all the guests together to kick off the evening's activities.

Close to the main building and under the shades of the coconut trees is a spectacular swimming pool (26m long) made of Indian stones with a Jacuzzi and a refreshing water fall.

The bedrooms
All bedrooms, specially designed with a view to the sea and the pool, can accommodate one couple and 2 children and are equipped with an air-conditioner, a ceiling fan, a safe and a mini bar refrigerator. Sliding glass door allow a stunning view and instant access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. On the front of each pavilion, long chairs are set up under a parasol for guests to relax.

Bedroom 1
Includes a king size bed and 2 single children beds and is equipped with a TV set and DVD player. At the back, the glass sliding doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened to lead to a private walled garden equipped with an outdoor shower nested among luxuriant exotic vegetation which can also be viewed and enjoyed from the classic bathtub.

Bedroom 2
Includes a king size bed and 2 single children beds. Sliding glass door allow a stunning view and instant access to the sea, the pool and the lawn. At the back, the glass sliding doors of the en-suite bathroom can be opened to lead to a private walled garden equipped with an outdoor shower nested among luxuriant exotic vegetation which can also be viewed and enjoyed from the classic bathtub.

Bedroom 3
Is the largest bedroom and it includes a king size bed, 2 single children beds and a long couch. It is equipped with a TV set and DVD player and has a large enclosed en-suite bathroom with a “rain feeling” shower.

Bedroom 4
Is the smallest bedroom and includes a king size bed and 1 single child bed. It is equipped with a TV set and DVD player. An outdoor garden bathroom enclosed by a tall wall decorated with huge primitive style stone carvings allow guests to feel the fresh air when bathing in a sunk-in terrazzo bathtub while watching the stars or the sea.

The team
Catering to your needs, a team of around 16 staff will look after you, under the strict supervision of our manager, well trained with previous experience in managing 4 star hotels. The team members include one waitress, one cleaning staff, one pool technician who also supports and helps organizing sport activities, seven gardeners, one chef, one cooking assistant and three security guards.

The manager and a few other staff speak good English and the manager remains at the Villa 24 hours during guest occupancy.

Our chef – experienced with the best hotels including the OBEROI – can prepare a wide choice of Western and Asian delicacies.

Laundry service is provided and a baby cot is available on request.

The beach
The Anandita beach is totally unspoiled with white sand and calm waters stretching along the Penta Sirai Bay. Guests can walk along the beach, watching the crystal clear waters and find bright orange or deep blue starfish and colorful seashells. It is ideal for long promenades or jogging.

Under the cooling shades of the “Bale” one can enjoy the sea breeze watching the local fishermen coming back with their daily catch on their small wooden fishing boats with colorful triangular sails. It is the perfect spot for enjoying the sunrise on the Rinjani of Lombok (3726m) and the sunset on the Agung of Bali and a place where guests like to congregate before and/or after each meal to sip cocktails and chat.

Activities
For those who seek excitement in an environment of absolute privacy, we offer a wide range of activities to choose from.

Nearby are traditional Sasak villages, waterfalls and fabulous trails up to the Rinjani volcano and the famous Gili islands to explore.

Around the GILI islands, the fishing, snorkeling and diving are sensational and encounters with giant sea turtles likely. The Anandita beach is surrounded by a well preserved coral reef, teaming with exotic and colorful fish.

You can decide to try our sea kayaks and row across the gentle waters along the coast of the Bay, or charter an outrigger boat for a picnic party on one of the Gili islands.

On a walk or bicycle ride around the bay through the tapioca fields and coconut plantations, you will come across villagers tending their crops, plowing their fields with buffaloes or attending their horses, smiling and waiving, children laughing and villagers welcoming you for a chat. Life moves at a slow pace around the ANANDITA villa. Horse Carts could be rented from the local village to take an easy, relaxed sightseeing tour of the village. This is not only fun but so exciting and thrilling to children who are among our guests.

Early in the morning, a visit to the nearby busy and lively market can provide an interesting insight into the daily life of the local people. All kinds of commodities: fish, meat, spices, fruits, vegetables, clothes, utensils and souvenirs are on display for your treat. Attended by most villagers it is an absolute “must see” to get a feel of the island and its charm.

Those keen on playing golf will not have to go further than a few hundred meters to reach the club house of the 18 holes KOISAIDO golf course, with stunning views on the valleys, the mountains and the turquoise sea.

Besides attending to your daily needs, our staff will be happy to challenge you for a volleyball game at the end of the afternoon and to relax after a long day outdoor, a massage can be arranged at the beach bale or in your room, or a sunset drink can be enjoyed at the “Bale” spent watching the last rays of the sun over the Mount AGUNG and the islands.

In the evening, our staff will serve you BBQ diner on the beach or under the coconut trees, where the sky and the stars will be your only roof. On request, a local live band can liven your evening with songs and music of past and present.
